๐ŸŽ‰ CVUSD kicked off the 2025โ€“2026 school year with an incredible Welcome Back Event!

Posted Date: 8/14/25 (4:26 PM)

Our teachers, principals, staff, and district leaders came together to reconnect, recharge, and reaffirm our commitment to inclusivity, access, equity, and excellence in education.

๐Ÿ‘ Thank you to Board President Jocelyn Vargas and the Board of Education for their leadership in ensuring we are Creating Champions. Their dedication reminds us that every voice and every student matters.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Superintendent Dr. Frances Esparza shared thatย โ€œWe Educate and Create Championsโ€ย is more than a motto โ€” itโ€™s a promise. For students, it builds skills, mindset, and resilience. For teachers, it inspires and empowers students to reach their fullest potential.

She also shared the Keys to Organizational Success:
ย โœ… Academic Achievement
ย โœ… Community Engagement
ย โœ… Effective Instruction & Leadership
ย โœ… Fiscal Solvency & Resource Optimization
ย โœ… Safe and Respectful Schools

๐Ÿ‘ We honored the heart of CVUSD โ€” our staff. From teachers, counselors, and school leaders to bus drivers, custodians, nutrition teams, office staff, maintenance crews, and every role in between, their dedication ensures every student feels supported and ready to thrive.

๐Ÿ† Riverside County Teacher of the Year Marisa Gaytan of Mecca Elementary shared a powerful message about inclusivity โ€” creating a classroom where every student feels safe, seen, and valued.

๐ŸŒŸ Student Trustee Isabella Jimenez Martinez (West Shores High School, 2024โ€“2025), reminded us that every role matters.ย โ€œWhen the adults in a school see us, value us, and believe in us, we begin to believe in ourselves.โ€

๐ŸŽค Keynote speaker Dr. Dominique Smith, nationally recognized educator and author, inspired us to reimagine how we connect with students, foster belonging, and create thriving learning environments.

๐ŸŽค Former CVUSD student and Public Information Officer (PIO) Maria Selene Castillo shared a heartfelt message about belonging and resilience, reflecting on her journey from student to district leader and highlighting the impact of mentors and staff.

Hereโ€™s to a year of possibility, growth, and success! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿพ #CVUSD_Creating_Champions
